Southland Holdings is seeking a skilled Assistant Project Manager to join our Water Treatment Plant Team in Leadville, Colorado. Responsibilities:
- Assist the team in developing and safely executing comprehensive project work plans.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely project completion.
- Assist Project Manager and Superintendent with engineering tasks, material take-offs, submittals, estimates, RFI’s.
- Accurately track daily field production and field logs for pay applications and schedule oversight.
- Assure credibility of the information recorded in the project files, schedules, and pay applications. Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, permits, and progress reports.
- Assist in Invoice Management and Tracking for Accounts Payable.
- Assist in tracking project budgets and costs. Identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure adherence to financial targets.
- Assist in the comprehensive preparation of project cost reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor Schedule to proactively avoid delays. Verify schedule integrity, evaluate logic, and float paths. Assess potential impacts to critical path and near-critical activities, report to Project Manager, Superintendent, and Scheduler.
- Assist in contracts management. This includes Subcontracts, Purchase Orders, Professional Services, Change Orders, and RFPs.
- Help and motivate project teams to achieve project objectives. Foster a collaborative work environment and promote teamwork and accountability.
- Address project challenges and obstacles effectively. Implement innovative solutions to overcome issues and ensure project success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction project management, preferably in water facility projects.
- Highly organized and experienced with cloud-based document management and collaboration systems
- Strong understanding of civil, mechanical, or structural engineering processes and techniques.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex construction projects from initiation to completion.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of safety standards, local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes in the Colorado area.
- PMP or other relevant certifications are a plus.
