Southland Holdings is currently accepting resumes for highly motivated civil construction professionals to join our team as a Construction Contract Specialist in Grapevine, TX.
The Construction Contract Specialist supports contract administration throughout the project lifecycle, preparing change orders, claims, notices, and related documentation. Reporting to the Director or Commercial Manager, this role requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Claims & Change Order Preparation:
Compile cost backup for change orders and claims using data from estimating, project controls, and accounting.
Draft supporting narratives, executive summaries, and exhibits.
Prepare contractual letters and notices in collaboration with leadership.
Data Gathering & Analysis:
Research and analyze relevant contract provisions to support entitlement.
Gather relevant project records and correspondences to support time and cost impact claims.
Coordinate with scheduling and cost teams to assemble comprehensive change packages.
Documentation & Compliance:
Ensure internal documentation complies with contractual notice provisions and internal processes.
Maintain accurate and well-organized project files related to commercial activity.
Support the maintenance of claims and change order tracking logs.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with project teams, estimators, schedulers, and other stakeholders.
Support Commercial Managers and project executives in executing commercial strategy
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
2-5 years of experience in contract administration, construction claims, or cost controls.
Familiarity with construction project lifecycle and common contract structures.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
Ability to understand cost tracking, scheduling, and change management systems.
Strong organizational and research abilities
Detail-oriented with high standards for accuracy
Effective communicator and concise writer
Ability to take direction and follow through independently
Reliable and deadline-conscious
Comfortable supporting multiple teams and projects simultaneously
